We approach landscape and urban design as a science-based fine art capable of enhancing the daily lives of people in cities and improving the ecological health of our natural environment. Our site designs, driven by the aspirations of our clients, context, and our unique design process, shape culturally expressive, spatially rich, and ecologically sound outdoor rooms for living.
Our design work is conceived of as a three-dimensional, on the ground, bodily experience understood through movement and time. Our primary mode of design inquiry is a hybrid process model representing architectural space; all of our graphic design, digital renderings, drawings, and digital and physical models are made by Counts Studio in our Brooklyn office. Models are used throughout our design process to test ideas, communicate designs to clients and consultants, and maintain focus on the spatial and experiential consequences of our creative work.
